Near-black soapstone carved and honed to a soft matte, with bright white quartz veins running through the body and breaking across the faces. The numerals are cut down into the stone and pooled with antique brass, real recessed geometry rather than paint, so the warm metal holds its line against the dark mineral. The full polyhedral set, plus a d2 and a d16, honed to match. A quiet, heavy stone with lightning in the grain.

Nightvein is cut from the deep seams where the lamps run out and the rock turns black. Quarriers follow the pale quartz threads down because the stone is softest beside them, soft enough to shape by hand and hard enough to keep an edge. Carvers of the lower halls favor it for the way it warms in the palm and never rings when it falls. Each die is worked dry and honed by hand so the veins stay bright.
