A warm sandstone rind cracked open on a glowing violet druzy, the broken face scattered with holographic flake and bridged by a vein of translucent white chalcedony faceted like crystal points. Plain rough stone on the outside, a lit geode heart on the inside. The numerals are cut down into the faces and filled silver, real recessed geometry so the metal sits at the floor of each cut and catches the light as the dice turn. The full polyhedral set, plus a d2 and a d16, every one split to show its interior.

A thunderegg looks like nothing at all until it is opened. Field hands turn them up in dry country and take them for plain nodules, and most are, but a few have spent a long time growing something violet in the dark. The old story is that they fall during storms and keep a little of the lightning that carried them. Each die is cut across the seam so the crystal shows, then the numbers are carved and filled by hand.
